Growing a Farmer Pt.2

Overall this book was a pretty interesting read. Even though I do not see my future to have anything to do with agriculture, I still see the relevant of our daily life with a small town farm. Timmermestier continued to include all his past experience as examples of different challenges he had failed, learned and overcame. He stumble into the life of a farmer and slowly grows into a full-time, professional farmer. I particularly liked the fowl chapter. I grew up in Taiwan, and there are always lots of chicken around, so I am pretty familiar with the animal. However, this chapter continue to surprises me with different facts of a chicken. For example, the social ranking of different batches of chickens will cause them to peak each other to death was pretty interesting. I didn't know that chickens would shut down after sundown and become absolutely incoherent with its environment.

Growing A Farmer

My first impression of this book was "what does farming has to do with anything related with business writing?" However, as Timmermesiter slowly guided us through each chapters, its as if he is personally telling you the story of his life in a coffee shop. I really enjoy his compelling way of telling the story through simple yet sophisticated language. Timmermesiter looked back to each of his decisions that eventually lead him to the path of farmer. At times he would even humor the readers about his mistakes along the way. Even though he made many mistakes, he still took care of himself financially then moved on to the next phase of becoming a full time farmer. I think the fact that he let himself slowly dive into the agriculture world  was worth mentioning. Timmermester could not emphasize enough on his lack of knowledge when it comes to farming. I believe that he wants all the readers to concur with the idea of anyone can do anything, even the author that grew up in a city...

Who I Am Matters!

As BR006 soar though the sky and slowly emerge with the stars, I know it is time to say goodbye to my childhood home, Taipei Taiwan. Every time I visit my motherland, my heart will always be filled with the nostalgic feeling. Growing up in Taipei was a very different experience in comparison to the my teenage life in the States. Taipei is the capital city of Taiwan, which is a city that had been fairly modernize. Everything on this small island was extremely close with each other, yet the history and culture in this tiny country is just as interesting as any other. As a nation build on the idea of rebel against communism in China, Taiwanese often argue that we are a free nation. Due to the outburst of the Japanese army prior to World War II, many of the Taiwanese culture is actually greatly influence by China and Japan. I plan...
